Canada-EU exchange – Achieving energy efficiency in buildings and housings

The BPIE has launched a new webinar series bringing officials from Canada and the EU to present their mutual plan in achieving energy efficiency in the building and housing sector.

Canada-EU exchange – Achieving energy efficiency in buildings and housings

Can the European Union and Canada learn from each other in achieving a sustainable recovery from the pandemic? As a matter of fact, both parties have committed themselves to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. A commitment was reaffirmed during a meeting between the EU Commission and Natural Resources Canada in March 2020. More recently, the EU and Canada have become more dedicated to promoting energy-efficient solutions, tackling climate change, and respecting the Paris Agreement. Therefore, they are partnering up to promote and exchange best practices on key topics related to the green transition.

In this new webinar series hosted by the Building Performance Institute Europe, solutions for sustainable renovations in the building and housing sector will be dissected and discussed. During each session, officials from Canada and the European Union will present and share their solutions and plans. The series is composed of five webinars, running monthly from March until July 2021. Each webinar will cover a specific topic, during which officials from the EU and Canada will share political agenda, implementation, best practices and innovation from their respective countries.
