Energy Agency of Plovdiv and the Belgian company AGIFLY carried out a thermographic survey of buildings in Plovdiv with a drone

Both partners Energy Agency of Plovdiv and AGIFLYare members within the international consortium of the EU project GINNGER. Its core mission is to promote sustainable neighborhoods characterized by low emissions, accessibility, and inclusiveness through tailored regeneration solutions.

An essential component of the project is the promotion of active participation in collaborative processes for neighborhood revitalization, facilitated by the development of a co-creation methodology. The community’s voice plays a crucial role in building sustainable neighborhoods, and GINNGER is committed to involve residents and other stakeholders in decision-making and the execution of regeneration projects. To facilitate this process, a co-creation methodology is being developed to empower the local community.

Technology will also play a central role in neighborhood revitalization. GINNGER aims to use digital solutions to simplify the planning, visualization, monitoring, and evaluation of regeneration projects. This will enable more efficient and effective resource management and continuous monitoring of progress.

GINNGER will test the co-creation methodology and implement regeneration actions in six pilot sites: Langreo (ES), Plovdiv (BG), Massagno (CH), Murcia (ES), Orte (IT), and Paris (FR). The project will thus cover both rural and urban environments, encompassing diverse contexts, cultures, and socio-economic conditions.

In Plovdiv, the pilot project area is the Trakia District, where there will be researched possibilities for:

▪ introducing a low-emission zone ▪ green renovation with the participation of citizens ▪ introduction of traffic monitoring systems ▪ inventory of the municipal and residential building stock ▪ analysis of energy consumption.

A team of experts from the regional administration of the Trakia District is actively assisting in the progress of the project work.
