Self-ignition in biomass storage – how to detect before a fire occurs

Attend this Pitch & Meet on 30 September to promote your innovative ideas! (Only in Swedish)

The 30 September 2021 from 09:00 to 12:00 Brussels time

When biofuel is piled up, the risk of spontaneous ignition, undesirable ignition of biofuel, increases. Self-ignition is a challenge for all operations dealing with solid biomass storage as there is always a risk of spontaneous ignition. These are estimated to be associated with costs totalling around SEK 300 million per year. The environmental aspect is also important to consider as large volumes are incinerated uncontrolled. Read the full E.ON request for proposal (RFP) here.

E.ON presents the sustainability challenge “Self-ignition in biomass storage – how to detect before a fire occurs” and innovative companies pitch their ideas.

This event can particularly be of interest if you are:

  • companies with similar challenges
  • companies that have solution ideas and are interested in pitching at a later time
  • energy companies, pulp mills, forestry companies, sanitation stations
  • researchers and students
