ABOUT US

Regional Energy Agency Kvarner (REA Kvarner) was established in 2009 by the regional government, County of Primorje Gorski Kotar, under the framework of the Intelligent Energy Europe programme. 

OBJECTIVES

The agency focuses on supporting the development and implementation of EE and RES projects, thus driving the energy transition in Primorje Gorski Kotar region.

ACTIVITIES

In line with these aims, REA Kvarner is involved in a wide range of activities, including:

  • Local/regional energy planning (preparation of annual and multi-annual energy plans for the Primorje Gorski Kotar County, SECAPs/Joint SECAPs for municipalities as well as other sectoral strategic and action plans);
  • Development of different local/regional/EU projects to reduce energy consumption and maximise energy efficiency, with special emphasis on supporting the rural and island areas;
  • Management, coordination and dissemination of EU projects;
  • Promotion of good practices in renewable energy sources (RES), rational use of energy (RUE) and climate change mitigation;
  • Promotion and support to innovative community-led energy projects and business models;
  • Organisation of seminars and workshops, active participation at conferences and international energy events;
  • Awareness raising and education activities in the field of RES, RUE, EE, sustainable development and climate change mitigation

Energy agencies as pioneers of the energy transition

Our members from Slovenia and Croatia met once again, this week in Zagreb. At a time of great uncertainty, the agencies convened to define what more they can do in the field of cooperation with REPowerEU, and to discuss the possibility of joint projects and policies between Slovenia and Croatia.
