Green Hydrogen Technologies Supporting the Energy Transition: Matching Uses with Context

The first workshop of the Green Hysland project took place in a Hybrid format in Cres, Croatia and online on 26 April 2022. The event was co-organised by FEDARENE and REA Kvarner.

In the Green Hysland project, partners will not only produce green hydrogen from solar energy on the island of Mallorca, Spain; they will also deliver a roadmap towards 2050 that compiles a long-term vision for the development of a widespread H2 economy in Mallorca and the Balearic Region, in line with the environmental objectives set for 2050.

In this first Green Hysland workshop, we have invited like-minded European projects and partners in order to show participants how green hydrogen can increase the penetration of renewable energy in a specific region, demonstrating sector coupling and sectorial integration, and moving towards full decarbonization of the economy.

As the workshop took place on the island of Cres, Croatia, the event also featured several Croatian hydrogen experts who have been implementing this technology in different contexts and for different uses – transportation, industry, waste management, fuel cell applications, etc. – in order to give you a complete overview of the possibilities offered by green hydrogen.
