The French State, the Rhône-Alpes Region and the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) have set up an observatory to measure the impacts of climate change in the Rhône-Alpes Region and facilitate the adaptation approach of local authorities.
Called “Regional Observatory of the Impacts of Climate Change” (ORECC), it allows all stakeholders and especially local authorities in charge of implementing SEAPs to access data, to share knowledge, methods, and analysis for climate change adaptation actions on its website: http://orecc.rhonealpes.fr/fr/observatoire-des-effets-du-changement-climatique.html
Currently operated by Rhônalpénergie-Environnement’s (RAEE) and the Centre d’Études et d’expertise sur les Risques, l’Environnement, la Mobilité et l’Aménagement (Cerema), ORECC has started to work to elaborate indicators in two sectors: agriculture/forestry and tourism. Other sectors shall be treated in the near future.
