Energy and climate are inseparable, this has become increasingly evident with the release of the European Green Deal, the most ambitious set of climate goals and actions to date. This is also a direct challenge for Europe’s cities to transform and not only fight against climate change but also adapt to its impacts, impacts we are all witnessing on a daily basis. This transformation will require adaptation to new strategies and the implementation of new, more ambitious measures. Our cities and regions will need help with this process. Thus, the North-West Croatia Regional Energy Agency (REGEA), IRE Liguria and Cyprus Energy Agency (CEA) have joined forces to develop and implement a systemic process to transform Energy into Energy and Climate Agencies through the EIT Climate-KIC funded project Transform4Climate. The three Energy Agencies are currently undergoing a series of Capacity Building activities to implement the transformation process which will enable them to provide meaningful support to the cities, regions, and municipalities in their area in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of both climate change mitigation and adaptation measures. Once fully tested and implemented, it is the goal of the project and the three participating agencies to replicate the process further.
In case your Agency is interested in more details on the transformation process, or just wants to explore additional cooperation issues related to this action, please contact REGEA, who will connect you with the responsible project managers.
