On December 15th, the Covenant of Mayors – Europe Office, the Energy and Climate Department of the Paris Region Institute and the Beratungs- und Service-Gesellschaft Umwelt mbH (B.&S.U.) joined forces for the delivery of an exclusive webinar on Energy Sufficiency.
The session opened with an introduction to energy sufficiency by Marie- Laure Falque Masset from AREC Institute.
The introduction was followed by a presentation on the Cities Energy Saving Sprint, a joint initiative of the European Commission, the Covenant of Mayors – Europe, and the European Committee of the Regions to support cities in taking measures that will immediately reduce their energy consumption.
The webinar continued with the presentation of the Save@Work project by Thekla Heinel from B.&S.U. and Lena Eckerberg from ESS. The project was designed to promote supportive habits that enable energy-efficient behaviour in the long term in office spaces in public buildings.
The last presentation was given by Fiona Breucker from the Jacques Delors Institute on the project FULFILL. The aim of the project was to investigate the contribution that sufficiency can have to reduce GHG emissions in Europe.
