EUSEW: REPowerEU: save energy, diversify, build a greener EU energy system

This session will provide an overview of the REPowerEU plan, and its expected impact on the EU energy system. It will also be the opportunity of sharing experience from the Cities’ Energy Saving Sprint!

The 27 September 2022 from 11:30 to 13:00 Brussels time

Following the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, in the REPowerEU communication, the Commission stressed the need to eliminate our dependency on Russian fossil fuels. In the longer term, reducing the energy demand through energy savings, and accelerating the deployment of renewable energy remain no-regret options. In the meantime we also need to diversify the energy supplies. The level of ambition is very high, and so are the investment needs to implement the REPowerEU plan, and the financing sources that can be used for this purpose.

The session provides an overview of the REPowerEU plan, and its expected impact on the EU energy system. This session will be the opportunity of sharing experience from the Cities’ Energy Saving Sprint!
