Policy synergies: Aligning project results with EPBD and national renovation plans

Date December 15, 2025
Time 10:00 - 11:30 Brussels time

About the Event

What role can community-anchored renovation tools play in delivering EPBD and NBRP objectives, and how can stakeholders take action to support implementation? Find out in this webinar!

Policy alignment is key to scaling renovation efforts across Europe. This webinar examines how Citizen-led renovation contributes directly to the objectives of the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) and national building renovation plans (NBRPs) by providing practical, community-anchored models for inclusive, data-informed, and affordable renovation.

It will demonstrate how CLR tools (retrofitting guide, renovation handbook, technical and financial advisory modules, legal guidance for energy communities, and crowdfunding business models) create strong synergies with EPBD provisions on advisory services, vulnerable households, deep renovation, and digital tools.

Through insights from multiple CLR pilots, the presentation shows how citizen-driven approaches can support policy implementation, foster uptake at local level, and ensure that renovation remains both socially just and aligned with national and EU targets.

Speakers from the Citizen-led renovation Initiative, CHRONICLE, and possibly Multicare will share experiences on bridging the gap between research, implementation, and policy frameworks to ensure long-term impact.

About CLR

Citizen-led renovation is an EU-funded support service to empower communities and to put citizens in the driver’s seat for energy renovations. The initiative aims to assist energy communities to deliver citizen-led energy renovations and renewable energy installations, whether you have already one-stop shops for project developers in place or not. Depending on your needs, CLR will give you the opportunity to access tailored support and co-implement citizen-led renovation projects in your community. The support service will help your community to overcome financial, legal, technical and informational barriers to lead the transition toward energy-efficient, climate-resilient buildings across Europe.
