Supporting local authorities on their path to climate neutrality. Focus on Slovenia and Croatia

Join us in the Covenant Ceremony for Croatian and Slovenian stakeholders in Maribor.
We will discuss how local and regional authorities can build resilient cities and be more engaged in the Covenant of Mayors.

The 15 September 2021 from 16:30 to 18:30 Brussels time

The European Federation of Agencies and Regions for the Energy and the Environment (FEDARENE) and the Covenant of Mayors – Europe Office are hosting a small Ceremony for Slovenian and Croatian stakeholders, in Maribor, Slovenia, on the 15th of September, 2021.

In April 2021, the European Covenant of Mayors has entered a new phase, officially launching its renewed ambition of a fairer and climate-neutral Europe.

Signatories (municipalities and local authorities) now commit to reaching climate neutrality by 2050, implementing adaptation to climate change measures and alleviating energy poverty through a just transition. They also commit to engaging their citizens, businesses and local stakeholders in the transition.

To celebrate this new phase, the achievements of the Community, and debate how to commit, engage, act and network towards a fairer, climate-neutral Europe, we are organising a Covenant Ceremony to welcome new fellow Mayors (and local authorities) to the Community.

The event will be the occasion for Croatian and Slovenian local authorities to debate on how to commit, engage, act and network with their peers and local communities and receive tailored and experienced support from FEDARENE members and CoM-Europe Supporters, the Regional Energy Agency of North – West Croatia (REGEA) and the Energy Agency of Podravje, Slovenia (ENERGAP).
