The Aegean Energy & Environment Agency is a non-profit organization founded in 2008 with the aim to provide technical assistance to islands and local authorities for maturing sustainable development projects and engaging in innovative investment schemes. The Agency’s strategic target is to increase the islands’ capacity on renewable energy, energy efficiency, wastes & water management, rational use of local resources, preservation of cultural heritage and landscape. Furthermore, AEGEA is acting as the technical and political advisor of islands in their participation in European projects and networks (Pact of Islands, Smart Islands Initiative etc.)
