The Energy and Sustainable Building Department of the Walloon Region has been working for more than 20 years in the field of Energy Efficiency and renewable energies.

The activities of the Wallonia region tend to cover all sectors of consumption through some adapted means. Special measures are focused on informing and raising awareness of households (Guichets de l’Energie)on training of Energy Managers in the service industries (offices, hospitals, schools), on professional training (learning tools), on energy accountancy (tertiary sector and industry).

R.D.D. activities are mainly in the field of buildings (bioclimatism), ovens and combustion, biomass valorisation and other forms of renewable energies.

The Energy and Sustainable Building Department has also an important participation in some international programs (IEA, European Union) and is responsible for the adaptation of various European directive (EPBD, ESD, renewables) to Walloon law.
