Wallonia Region
With over 20 years of experience in energy efficiency and renewable energies, SPW Energies is active in the fields of buildings (bioclimatism), ovens and combustion, biomass valorisation, and other forms of renewable energies.
The Energy and Sustainable Building Department of the Walloon Region (SPW Energie) has been working in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energies for more than 20 years.
The organisation’s activities are mainly in the field of buildings, specfically bioclimatism, ovens and combustion, biomass valorisation, and other forms of renewable energies.
SPW Energie’s activities tend to cover all sectors of consumption through some adapted means. Special measures are focused on providing information and raising awareness of energy efficiency and renewable energy use to households, such as through the Guichets de l’Énergie programme; training Energy Managers in service industries like offices, hospitals, schools; providing professional training; or encouraging energy accountancy in the tertiary sector and industry.
SPW Energie has played an important role in participating in some international programmes (including those run by IEA, European Union) and is responsible for the adaptation of various European directives, such as the EPBD and those regarding renewables, to Walloon law.
