Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Energy Environment Agency (AURA-EE):
Established in 1978, the regional energy agency for Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in France promotes sustainable energy and climate solutions. With over 70 members from various sectors, AURA-EE coordinates regional and national networks, fostering expertise sharing and impactful actions. A founding member of FEDARENE and supporter of the Covenant of Mayors, the agency actively contributes to EU energy and climate goals.
Association Pour Une Gestion Durable De L’ Energie (AGEDEN):
Founded in 1977, AGEDEN is the local energy agency for the Isère department in France, supporting individuals, communities, and businesses in their energy transition. It provides technical advice, capacity building, and project support, handling over 15,000 energy consultations annually and assisting with 300+ collective projects. As a member of networks like France Rénov’, CLER, and AURA-EE, AGEDEN focuses on local action, stakeholder collaboration, public awareness, and policy support, playing a key role in the region’s sustainable energy transition.
Energeiako Grafeio Kyprou (CEA):
Established in 2009, the Cyprus Energy Agency (CEA) empowers local authorities in sustainable energy planning, offering technical expertise to help mitigate and adapt to climate change. As a supporter of the Covenant of Mayors, CEA serves as an information hub for local communities, providing education, and vocational training, and fostering innovation.
Ente Vasco De La Energía (EVE):
Established in 1982, EVE is the energy agency of the Basque Country and a key advisor of the regional government in advancing its energy transition. EVE manages energy resources, collaborates with stakeholders, and supports the Basque Government’s “3E 2030 Energy Strategy” through training, awareness, investment promotion, and technical assistance.
Energeticke Centrum Usteckeho Kraje, Prispevkova Organizace (ECUK):
Established in 2022, the Energy Centre of the Ústí Region’s mission is to implement the region’s Energy Plan. As a member of the Union for Community Energy (UKEN), the agency leverages legislative insights and data to support the development of regional energy communities. As part of its vision, ECUK aims to establish the Ústí Region Energy Community Platform, driving collaboration and innovation in community energy.
Consorcio Agencia Extremena De La Energía (AGENEX):
Established in 2001, the Extremadura Energy Agency (AGENEX) supports the regional public sector in the design and implementation of key energy policies to meet regional, national, and European energy targets. This mission is achieved by promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy; carrying out awareness-raising actions; facilitating dialogue among key stakeholders; and implementing EU-funded projects that help improve energy management and planning, research and growth in the region.
Mazowiecka Agencja Energetyczna Spzoo (MAE):
Established in 2009, MAE supports energy policy development and planning for public and private institutions in Mazovia. It focuses on renewable energy, energy-efficient housing, circular economy, sustainable transport, climate mitigation, and innovative financing. MAE fosters stakeholder collaboration, provides consultancy to Polish decision-makers, and contributes to national legislation. As the JESSICA Urban Development Fund manager for Mazovia, appointed by the European Investment Bank, it oversees regional energy investments and fund management.
Ihobe, Basque Environment Agency, Basque Government
Ihobe, the public company attached to the Basque Government’s Department of Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability seeks to improve the environment, by integrating environmental criteria into sectoral policies as an element of sustainable competitive value for the Basque Country and its organisations.
As the technical secretariat of the Basque Network of Sustainable Municipalities Udalsarea 2030, Ihobe fosters local sustainability and promotes coordination between the different levels of public administration in the Basque Country.
FEDARENE (Federation Europeenne Des Agences Et Des Regions Pour L’energie Et L’environnement):
Founded in 1990 by six regional authorities, FEDARENE represents regions and local/regional energy agencies driving Europe’s energy transition and climate action. Its network spans over 80 members across 25 EU countries, including energy agencies and regional authorities engaged in EU energy and climate matters. FEDARENE supports its members in advancing ambitious policies and strategic actions while amplifying their initiatives at the European level, ensuring local and regional perspectives are reflected in EU discussions.
IEECP (Institute For European Energy And Climate Policy):
The Institute for European Energy and Climate Policy (IEECP) brings together experts across Europe to advance energy efficiency and climate policy. It provides solutions, platforms, and knowledge to help authorities achieve EU Green Deal and Paris Agreement goals. IEECP focuses on energy poverty, innovative financing for energy efficiency, and promoting principles like “efficiency first” and energy audits. It supports policymakers in creating measures to meet EU climate and energy targets and offers insights on applying EU directives at all governance levels.
