With over 20 years of experience supporting the reduction of energy demand, TEA is a not-for-profit organisation that operates as a social enterprise and has a proven ability in enabling people, communities and the public sector to become more sustainable in their energy use.
Tipperary Energy Agency (TEA) is a not-for-profit organisation that has been successfully supporting Tipperary to reduce its energy demand for over 20 years. The agency operates as a social enterprise and has a proven ability in enabling people, communities and the public sector to become more sustainable in their energy use.
The mission of TEA is to lead the delivery of sustainable energy solutions in Tipperary and beyond, by advocating, educating, and innovating on climate action. Motivating its work, TEA has a vision for all communities, businesses and citizens to participate in the energy transition and achieve carbon neutrality.
Activities
The agency engages in a range of activities and services that support communities, businesses and citizens as they work towards net carbon neutrality. This includes:
- A dedicated building services design team that provides building design and energy services, such as a one-stop shop for energy efficiency.
- Developing and implementing renewable energy projects involving wind, biomass, heat pumps, and solar photovoltaics.
- Supporting community energy projects across Ireland.
- Offering events and training to communities, SMEs, energy professionals and citizens across Ireland. By offering Energy Tours, the agency also welcomes attendees to see its work firsthand.
Achievements
TEA has celebrated many milestones marking its impact in advancing the climate and energy transition, including:
- 12,000+ tonnes of C02 reduced.
- 350+ heatpumps installed.
- 35 million KWH energy saved.
- 650 jobs created.
