REMARKABLE Climate Leaders

Climate Leaders Achieving 2050 Climate Neutrality

The Climate Emergency and Energy Transition agendas require clear leadership, ambition, courage and conviction if our 2050 targets and goals are to be achieved.  REMARKABLE Climate Leaders will create a network of Current and Emerging Climate Leaders who, through their actions and inspiration, will drive their municipalities, public authorities, communities and regions. They will transform their approaches from one focused mainly on energy efficiency/renewables to one focused on the strategic goal of climate neutrality by 2050.

REMARKABLE Climate Leaders will build new leadership capacity across 120 actors from 7 countries in Europe through a Climate Leadership Programme (CLP) designed with and for leaders across public authorities, municipalities, civil society and politics.  Uniquely, REMARKABLE Climate Leaders will use ethnography, as a trademark methodology of anthropology, to develop the CLP with, rather than solely for participants. Through our people-centred approach, the REMARKABLE CLP will address the key characteristics, drivers and behaviours of pioneering leaders; and, even more importantly, research the challenges i.e. lack of knowledge, capacity, organizational support etc. which hinder the implementation of current and emerging strategies.

The REMARKABLE CLP will also facilitate the creation of 60 Roadmaps for public authorities aiming at Climate Neutrality by 2050.  These Roadmaps will allow our Climate Leaders to translate strategic aspirations and policy ambitions into concrete and disruptive far-reaching measures.  Taking a strategic approach our Climate Leaders will begin immediate implementation of these plans with a view of stimulating €300m investment by 2030.
