Relive the ManagEnergy Master Class 8!

The last ManagEnergy Master Class took place from the 3rd to the 5th of February 2020. In this last session, 26 participants from local and regional agencies gathered in Brussels to learn about Risk analysis and the development of Guarantee Schemes. Modules 1 and 2 focused on Market Facilitation and The Involvement of Banks and Mobilising Private Investment respectively. The aim of Module 3, facilitated by the North-West Croatia Regional Energy Agency (REGEA), was to increase the knowledge of participants in the development and use of financial instruments with a focus on risk coverage.

In this short video, participants come back on their experience and explain what they learnt from the different workshops, presentations and practical exercises that were organized. Among the topics addressed were: the fundamentals of risk assessment and mitigation; the use of structural funds through financial instruments, the distinction between Private-Public Partnerships (PPP) and Energy Performance Contracts (EPC).

During 3 days, participants were able to earn more about these tools and funding opportunities to bring them back to their regions and develop future projects. In her testimony, Isabella Katsimenis (Energikontor Norr, Sweden) underlines the networking opportunities of such events for professionals working in Energy Agencies. According to Rogelio Bonilla (AURA-EE, France), this was also a great way to learn more about risk analysis and the development of guarantee schemes through a double approach, both theoretical (through presentations and conferences) and practical (through practical exercises and peer learning sessions).

The Class ended on a high note with the handing of participants’ certificates by Velimir Segon from REGEA and Anette Jahn, head of the sector in the Energy Unit at EASME (European Commission). Velimir Segon (REGEA, Croatia) gave his feedback on the session, after 3 intensive days with a motivated audience.
