Data4Action is an Intelligent Energy Europe co-funded project, which aims to foster win-win energy data exchange collaboration models between public authorities and energy data providers, in twelve EU countries. Energy data is indeed crucial for identifying trends and priority sectors and measures to target in terms of energy efficiency improvement and transition towards renewable energy sources. These measures are then inscribed in the municipal and regional Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAPs). However, energy data is often lacking at the local, due to issues with the quality of data, regularity of data, commercial sensitivity, data privacy, etc. Data4Action thus aims to set up regional “one-stop-shop” centres for the exchange, collection and processing of local energy data.
