COOPENERGY aims to foster a more collaborative approach between regional and local public authorities for more cohesion in the design and implementation of their respective sustainable energy action plans.

Sustainable Energy Action Plans at the regional and local levels are often developed in isolation from each other. This can lead to unforeseen incoherencies, duplications, wasted resources and time. Thus COOPENERGY seeks to foster more collaboration between regional authorities and their local authorities, through several actions: joint signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation document to commit to a long-term collaborative approach, the setting-up of a regional steering committee, and the implementation of at least two joint initiatives where both regional and local authorities are involved. This deliberate collaborative approach is sure to improve coherence and impacts at both regional and local levels in delivering their respective sustainable energy action plans.
